She Sings of Murder and Love
Director: Virginia Heath
Year: 2027
An Irish trans singer-songwriter’s quest for justice for the unsolved brutal murder of a German backpacker, transforms her life in unexpected ways. An anti-true-crime documentary, told as a musical. An unapologetically feminist, cinematic portrayal of trans Irish singer-song writer, Keeley Moss. Every song on Keeley’s three albums celebrates the life of, and demands justice for, Inga Maria Hauser, a young German backpacker, sexually assaulted and murdered in Northern Ireland in 1988. As the Director ‘investigates the investigator’, Keeley's fever dream of Inga Maria’s adolescent freedom blurs and refracts to reveal Keeley’s own life experience. As Inga Maria’s life and courage, before she became a 'murder victim', transform Keeley’s life, we discover the unexpected gift of personal freedom that Inga Maria has rewarded her dedication with.
Lift Share
