The Book of Eve

Synopsis

When most people retire, they retreat to that idyllic cottage in the country and life starts to take a slower pace - but not for Eva.

Her 65th birthday arrives along with her first pension cheque, which proves to be a major wake up call.

Dumping Burt her grumpy and ungrateful husband of forty years, she flees the safe cocoon and wealth of suburbia and heads for the uncertainty of the big city, figuring the only things in life you regret are the things you don't do.

Life's not easy at first for Eva, but it's a damn sight more exciting when Johnny a passionate Romanian immigrant 20 years her junior re-lights her fire with good cooking, stimulating conversations, and lots of laughs. Her walls crumble, and her senses begin to awaken.

A heart-warming voyage of discovery, The Book of Eve explores how modern women at 65 can be sensual, attractive, funny and intelligent and that coming of age isn't restricted to teenagers!
