Synopsis

Kate, a former US soldier, is leading a humanitarian mission into war-torn Chechnya. Alongside her is Magomed, her trusted Chechen friend. But unbeknownst to both, young rebel Larissa is stowed away amongst their cargo with a mysterious package. The pair reluctantly takes cynical US war photographer Walter on board, a teacher and her injured student. Faced with roadblocks, the group must cross the Caucasus Mountains, risking the dual threats of Russian soldiers and embittered guerrilla fighters. In a land where friends and foes are one and the same, the journey takes a dramatic turn, pushing the small group to the limits, in order to survive.
