Synopsis

This is about the grand re-opening of heritage lottery funded St Leonards Gardens part of Burtons St Leonards designed by architect Decimus Burton. Plush Productions was there to capture the salient moments of this import day in the history of St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. This project was produed by Plush Prodcutions for Burtons St Leoanrds Society and Hastings Borough Council.

Synopsis

Here's Johnny enters the surreal world of famous graphic artist Johnny Hicklenton, who is battling against Multiple Sclerosis.  Living in an ncreasing state of immobility and frustration, Johnny escapes the confines of his frontroom through his artwork. Through the expression of his brilliant and sometimes troubled imagination we learn about the disease that he cannot escape from.

Beit Iksa is considered the closest West Bank village to Israel, yet it lies between two Israeli settlements that are built on Palestinian land, the separation wall, and is accessed via a checkpoint. The Israelis who reside in both the settlements insist they live in Israeli Jerusalem, yet between them is Beit Iksa, an Arab village situated in occupied Palestine. Home is a portrait of that tiny village, exploring the indignities and contradictions of Israeli occupation. From the perspective of both Arab villager, and Israeli settler.

To work in the poorly paid US based factories or maquiladora’s as they are locally known; to illegally cross the border, into the US, in search of the American dream; to traffic drugs for the Juarez cartel, one of Mexico’s most powerful drug gangs; Or maybe it’s just to Murder! Synopsis

Mayomi lost her husband to the Tamil Tigers, her mother and home to the Tsunami, and is now the only female member of her family, single-handedly caring for her disabled father, her alcoholic brother and his abandoned six-year old son. She is also still homeless and knows that, in a country crippled by bureaucracy and corruption, this is unlikely to change. The film follows Mayomi as she struggles to overcome the obstacles in and outside her family. Her optimism and courage drives her forward and also provides the heart of this moving and intimate film.   An intimate portrait of a young woman struggling to gain independence, whilst holding her troubled family together.

This documentary follows a year in the life Isabela and Irlan two aspiring ballet dancers who engage daily in a clash between two worlds: rich and poor, black and white. Ballet is an art form steeped in the history of the wealthy white elite, and many feel that the likes of Irlan Santos da Silva and Isabela Coracy, two black kids from poor backgrounds, don't belong. Despite the constant prejudice and doubt, both are determined to follow their ambitions. For them, dance is a way out, an escape and on stage an ecstasy, that is rarely found in their tough day to day lives. The question is can they make it?

Synopsis

Rollin'on is a film about skateboarding, hard work and perseverance. The film tells the story of a group of young people who regularly meet at Finsbury Park skate-park. Its main narrative is given by an interview with legendary skateboarding champion Tony Hawk, in which he tells the story of his first rolling steps into the world of skateboarding and how much skateboarding contributed to changing his life from bullied shy boy and outsider to revered professional skateboarding champion and video game character. The film draws a parallel between the lives of the young skateboarders in Haringey and their hero and hopefully will prove very inspirational among viewers. The film touches on themes such as bulling at school, social barriers and prejudice, as well as investigating weather skateboarding could offer a viable alternative to gun, knives, street crime in general and boredom.
