LIME STREET combines archive footage, documentary, animation and the performance film of COSTA Book Award nominated Jeff Young's play BRIGHT PHOENIX starring Cathy Tyson (Mona Lisa). It explores how changing, sanitising and eradicating the urban landscape distinct to a city, notably the now demolished Futurist Cinema in Liverpool that is featured in BRIGHT PHOENIX, leads to a degradation of culture and a caustic erosion with the past. How do places recall culture and society in a unique way? How do they offer a physical, organic link to new generations? How are they live stages for culture to grow? This is a city that can’t be found in a guidebook, a culture that lives in the walls of places like the Futurist Cinema. When it is torn down, the future vanishes. LIME STREET blends an elegiac play with an investigative documentary, ergo the recent arrest of city Mayor Joe Anderson and current investigation into bribery charges surrounding property development. In an age where city planning and regeneration are so relevant to the present and future of cities, this project explores how retaining and restoring places means so much more than nostalgia.

F.A.T.E were once a growing religion but, after a miscalculated doomsday prediction in the 1950s, membership has dwindled. In recent years F.A.T.E have been linked to disappearances of former members, the leader Daniel Love has gone into self-imposed exile, and this year their crops are failing. Except the potatoes. In need of money, the gang recruit new member Rachel, at a local rehab facility. Rachel breathes new life into the group and, when she turns the head of lifelong member Comet, old relationships begin to fracture. As the comet that F.A.T.E believe will bring with it the end of the world approaches, the group's beliefs are tested. New secrets emerge which threaten everything the cult has been working towards.

The story of Sigga, a 17 year-old girl trying to leave home in Iceland, and make her way to California. Sigga lives in a remote Icelandic fishing village. When she announces to her parents she is going to live in California to be a poet. They are distraught: why can't she live next door and write poetry there? Her best friends begin the journey to drive her to the airport. Outside the village, they give a lift to Nikki, an American poet who has just returned from California. Nikki falls for Sigga, and despite her wishes, he is intenet that she stays in Iceland.
