Synopsis

Office-worker Bob thinks he's dreaming when a doll starts talking to him, until it helps him to find a girlfriend. But the doll won't stop talking, and keeps Bob awake each night. When he tries to end the relationship, the doll uses its powers to take revenge.

Ghost & The Crystal  is a re-working in video clips from a film made by Stuart Pound almost thirty years ago. The new technology and the old examine each other with mock-cinematic effects of colour, contrast and movement. The soundtrack is contemporary music played on a traditional instrument of popular entertainment, the hurdy-gurdy.

In 1971 the experimental film maker Anthony Stern travelled to Afghanistan with his 16mm film camera. The footage was lost for almost 30 years. Rediscovered in 2003, if forms the basis of this impressionistic film-poem, with an original soundtrack provided by the world fusion musicians 'Equa'.

Future Legend has made several fictional films covering a range of genres. Always setting themselves high standards, their emphasis has been to produce high quality short films with a clear narrative, strong characters and wry humour.
 
In their latest production, ‘Up The Hill Backwards’, Future Legend has emulated what you might categorise as the classic European film style. The Director Richard Mann has followed his cinematic influences, such as Jacques Tati, Laurel & Hardy and the Ealing Comedies, to produce a highly stylised and distinctive film.
 
Set in a lively and energetic café ‘Up the Hill Backwards’ follows the mishaps of our hero, Charlie (played by Richard Mann). Charlie has just moved to town and is enjoying the active café culture when he catches the eye of Nadine (Beccy Killgariff). Stopping him in his tracks she hands Charlie her number with the intention of meeting for a date.
 
However, Nadine realises that Charlie isn’t all he is cracked up to be.

I shot it in black and white at 16 fps and telecine-ed it at 25 fps in order to give it the jerky look of an old Edwardian film.

Using a mixture of animation and live action Canning Town Fox tells the true story of a hapless shoe salesman named Barney Banard who borrowed £30,000 from a one-legged loan shark named Beryl in order to buy up the world supply of Speed Brogues, (a new type of motorised shoe).
 
Unfortunately, it transpired that the company manufacturing the Speed Brogues were also illegally importing Nigerian Fighting Kittens, (hidden in crates of shoe leather) into this country. When the news broke Barney found himself unable to sell his Speed Brogues and as such had to find another way to repay the money that he had borrowed fom Beryl. After sometime he encountered an African national named Godfrey Breslaw who offered to share a fortune in gold doubloons with him, (which unbeknownst to Barney had been stolen from his girlfriend Athena's father several years earlier) if he helped to reclaim them. Unfortunately, when Barney went to pay off his debts Beryl smelt a rat and decided to tie Athena to a train track until Barney told her how he got the money and if there was anymore where it came from - And then things really started to get complicated.
