Synopsis

An ‘urban fear’ grips the tenants of an inner city allotment when the long-predicted apocalypse finally arrives. Gardeners of all levels of green-fingered ability and produce-preference, are afraid to venture onto their plots, especially late at night. And, even when they can summon enough courage to do so, there is no safety in numbers, for the dead have risen from the depths beneath the cabbage patch and the rows of sweet pea, hell bent on mischief, mayhem and consumption of the living. Only the nimble fingered “figurine war-gamer” Trevor, aka ‘Casimir the Destroyer’, and his best friend Graham, the knightly “Sir Brandt”, stand between the devilish hordes of undead and the salvation of mankind – well at least in their alter-ego fantasies they do. Until of course one dark night, as they look beyond the confines of Trevor’s little wooden shed, they discover the world has truly fallen into the hands of the undead – particularly Trevor’s allotment tenant neighbours. Now Trevor must venture into the unknown to save his wife, Bobbi, and her ‘capricious’ friend Harriet from a world gone to chaos, and in so doing become the hero he has always fantasised he was.

Synopsis

Enter The Collider, a machine built to decode the mysteries of human relationships. Its mission: to identify the corrosive, delightful and mysterious material that passes between people – that keeps us together and pulls us apart. Created for two people at time, the experience guides each person along a journey, directing the movements of both into a choreography that investigates their own relationship with power and control. Each participant enters separately but, soon, their journeys converge. One enters a virtual world revealing the inner vision of the machine, the other can manipulate the visions and actions of that virtual world. The experience culminates in an unmediated encounter where the pair work out, together, what has happened. The Collider builds the real choreography of going in and out of VR with another person in the room into a theatrical experience which creates its own spectacle – a dance between two limited humans failing and failing again to see the other’s experience and then, finally, the rush of connection when they do. Focusing on the now-legendary 1953 tour which the ageing comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy embarked on in the twilight years of their fame. Once the world’s favourite double act, but now diminished by age, and their golden era a distant memory, Laurel & Hardy set out on a variety hall tour of Britain in 1953. As they crisscross the country, attendances are disappointingly low. But they’ve always been able to make each other laugh, and as the charm and beauty of their performances shines through, their audiences laugh too, and they re-connect with legions of adoring fans, old and new. The tour becomes a hit, but Laurel & Hardy can’t quite shake the spectre of Stan and Ollie’s past; and long buried ghosts, coupled with Oliver’s failing health, start to threaten their precious partnership. Guided by freewheeling founders James Lebon and Steve Brooks, who met when one was a rockabilly and the other a New Romantic, the salon moved from early ’80s postpunk roots to become a hip-hop club and communal hub for DJs, photographers and style icons. But the film "is not just about the haircut", delivering an intimate portrait of Steve struggling with a traumatic past that threatens to derail the Cuts universe. Formed by Camberley twins Matt and Luke Goss, teenage pop sensations Bros tasted brief but massive success in the late 1980s, becoming the youngest band to headline Wembley. Both brothers moved to America following the group’s break-up, with drummer Luke becoming a Hollywood actor (he’s appeared in two Guillermo del Toro films) and singer Matt enjoying several Las Vegas casino residencies. Despite a tense and fractured relationship, last year the pair attempted an ambitious London reunion.
