Synopsis

In post-WW II Finland, homosexuals were officially classified as mentally ill, weak and feminine. Conducting any homosexual act or producing homosexual material was illegal. Gay men were beaten by the police, thrown in jail like criminals and often sent to asylums for “treatment”. In the middle of it all was one man, quietly using his talent in an inhospitable societal environment, fantasizing about a different world through the tip of an artist’s pen: Touko Laaksonen, to be iconically known across the globe by his nom de guerre, Tom of Finland. Tom of Finland began secretly creating a completely new variety of homoerotic art for gay men. Proud, healthy and über-masculine. His work was sexually liberated. Totally shameless. Gleefully and aggressively trouncing the norm. His art fanned the flames of a revolution, emboldening a new generation of homosexuals to stand up and celebrate what they were: Men.

Synopsis

Disgraced poet Ted Wallace is summoned to his friends Lord and Lady Logan's country manor, Swafford Hall, to investigate a series of unexplained miracle healings. Ted tracks down the perpetrator of the phenomena, fifteen year old David Logan, whose parents believe has healing hands. Unaware that David is using some rather unorthodox methods, the Logans are set on sharing their son’s gift with the world. Ted sets out to debunk the miracles and save a young man from a lifetime of embarrassment.

Adaptation of Julian Barnes’ Man Booker Prize-winning novel 'The Sense of an Ending'.

Synopsis

On April 6, 2006, a young man named Halit Yozgat was shot and killed in a Kassel internet café. His murder was the ninth in a series of ten committed by a terrorist group called the National Socialist Underground (NSU) between 2000 and 2007. Andreas Temme, an employee of Hessen’s State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, was also present that same day. He claimed to have already left the café at the time of the crime.
Known for how they merge artistic and politic practice, the Forensic Architecture collective took on the murder of Halit Yozgat, precisely reconstructing the minutes before and after the crime in their film 77sqm_9:26min. Which elements of Andreas Temme’s statements are true and which are not is the central question of the film, which was shown for the first time at documenta 14 in Kassel. Witness statements are compared and sets of movements reconstructed in a replica of the internet café, while a digital simulation shows how long the smell of the gunshots remains in the air.
The conclusions that can be drawn from the research form a damning indictment of the investigative and judiciary authorities.

Juxtaposing images of the production sites of the pharmaceutical-chemical industry with speculations on the historical, social, and material conditions of Cyanotype photography, in this piece artist Kerstin Schroedinger probes into the (gendered) politics of materiality and the (violent) historicities of its form.
The film follows a figure that proceeds through the stages of exposing and developing a Cyanotype. They revisit sites in Seveso, Italy, and Basel, Switzerland that both relate directly to the history of Prussian Blue, a blue synthetic dye.
