When fate brings disillusioned music teacher JJ into the orbit of self-confessed ‘low life scum’ Naoise and Liam Og, the sound of Irish music is changed forever.
Under the name Kneecap, their band begin moulding the language to fit their tough, anarchic and hedonistic lives. A language encumbered with forty words for stone now has one for stoned. But to get their voices heard the trio must overcome police, paramilitaries and politicians as the future status of the Irish language erupts into the public arena. Yet their worst enemies are often themselves, as their illegal exploits, families and relationship pressures threaten to pull the plug on their dreams.
Across the globe a language dies every two weeks. This is a darkly comic story about our intrinsic human urge for identity; whether personal, political or artistic.

Synopsis

MIRAGE - EIGENSTATE weaves together analogous investigations into the nature of reality, positioning Western science as just one methodology among many in a constellation of pluralistic worldviews. The film explores different interpretations of reality, from Sufi mysticism and Monorealism to theories of quantum mechanics. Edited in the style of American astronomer and planetary scientist Carl Sagan’s 1980s television show, 'Cosmos', which sought to explain the origin of life and the fourth spatial dimension, MIRAGE - EIGENSTATE references scientific mass communication, where complex concepts are described in straightforward ways, often through images.

Steven France, community activist and mixed martial arts coach (MMA), haunted by the death of step-father 'Mickey', found MMA as his saviour from the trappings of these very estates. Determined to force change from within. His objective; to do the same with a group of youngsters, each facing their own unique challenges. Be it battles with drugs to unemployment and poverty, the weight of terminal illness or the trials of immigration abandoning family, thousands of miles away.
