Eileen is a mother of two children, who are both about to fly the nest. The film is part of 'CINE OPERA', a series over 50 videoworks and cinematographic records shot in various part of the world by Michael Nyman during the last fifteen years. In Moscow 11:19.31, the camera observes, somewhat objectively, from the view point of Michael Nyman, the interviewee and celebrity, the proceeding of an interview in a Moscow radio station. His answers, always triggered by some sort of hesitation, are replaced by his own music: 'La Debarcadère' from 'La Traversee de Paris' (1989).

From the bottom rungs of Indian society, she was the first of her caste to marry a Westerner. With the advent of tourism her family was one of the first to move to Pushkar in search of a better way of life. As a teenager she met Michael, a wealthy middle aged Australian. Utterly seduced by each others differences Michael spent five years with her family before marrying her. After four years he deserted her taking their daughter with him. The film starts weeks after Sandra was abandoned trying to understand what happened. As time progresses becoming more estranged from her family Sandra follows a route that leads her into dubious relationships with tourist men. This complex film offers an insight into a microcosm reflecting the emotional impact when two cultures clash. A free spirit the decisions Sandra makes often feel like her choice, yet the invisible walls that imprison her in limbo are also cultural. A tragic cautionary tale that also celebrates the spirit of survival in a rapidly changing India.
