Synopsis

Doorways is a story about a week in the life of two English Pub Doormen, one who is innocently on a path to find his masculinity, the other holds a dark secret and is on the edge of losing his mind. Inspired by our writer ‘working the doors’ for over 10 years, Doorways is a story about Craig, a life-long bouncer, it’s all he knows. He is also on a path of self-destruction and years of abuse are coming back to haunt him in a week from hell. He is questioning his own sanity and own reality. The last thing he needs to be is a student. The Student is on a path of self-discovery. He is searching for his masculinity. But he will find many answers to questions he didn’t need to know; defining who he is as a man as Craig takes him on a ride that eventually descends into the depths of human depravity. Will Craig break him? or will he rescue Craig’s heart?

Synopsis

A father and son live a reclusive lifestyle in the middle of nowhere. The man, a disillusioned mercenary, has his final target in sight - a gang of foreign revolutionaries who lay low in a nearby derelict compound. As the man closes in on his target the boy falls for the revolutionaries' serving girl. Having spent his whole life in isolation the boy now discovers the warmth of friendship and the pleasures of something more. As father and son collide the boy is sent running, running in pain and full of betrayal, straight into the twisted embittered arms of the boy's maternal grandparents, who have come to snatch and save the boy. Set in Cornwall in 1855 All in the Valley is a powerful story of desperation and redemption played out against a bleak and unforgiving landscape. Joseph Ballam, a Crimean war veteran, returns home with no money, no job and no prospects. When Mr. Lincoln, a wealthy mine owner, offers him the chance to emigrate to the colony of Van Diemen’s Land it seems his troubles may be at an end, but there is a catch.
