Synopsis

The story of a burnt-out, middle-aged, ex pop star in search of his long lost anarchist mojo. Dunstan Bruce is 59 and he’s struggling with the fact that the world seems to be going to hell in a handcart. He’s wondering where did it all go wrong? For him. For humanity.
Twenty years after his fall from grace, the former frontman of the anarchist band Chumbawamba is angry and frustrated. But how does a middle-aged, retired radical, who now feels invisible get back up again?
In this punk version of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ Dunstan is visited by the antagonistic ghost of his anarchist past. It is his alter ego, ‘Babyhead’ who forces him to question his own life, sending him on a search for his long-lost anarchist mojo.
This is not only the previously untold and remarkable story of Chumbawamba but also Dunstan’s personal redemptive voyage of reawakening as well as a call to arms to those who think activism is best undertaken by someone else. An extraordinary, inspiring film for our times.

Synopsis

Artist, activist and performer Jess Thom, who has Tourette's syndrome, conducts a revealing investigation into one of Beckett’s most intense monologues, ‘Not I’, in which she asks the audience to reconsider issues of disability, representation and social exclusion.
This film is radical in its asking of exciting and novel questions about the portrayal of disability in the arts and the exclusion of disabled people as cultural and creative producers. Jess moves past the reverence that surrounds Beckett’s work and makes it accessible to everyone, while raising questions about cultural curation, who has access to theatre and who can perform it.

A 60-minute film exploring neuro-diversity in the arts through the work of Samuel Beckett from disabled performer Jess Thom's personal perspective. Jess is an artist and activist who also has Tourette's Syndrome. In this film, Jess takes us on a funny and unpredictable journey of discovery into one of Beckett's most complex plays,and asks us to radically reconsider issues of disability, representation and social exclusion as she prepares to perform the role of Mouth in Not I, in front of a live theatre audience.

Following the collaborative process of the band Mumford & Sons with an esteemed collection of musical partners during their 2016 tour of South Africa.
