Synopsis

Jen is a feature-length production shot on MiniDV during 2007. It is essentially a romance story following the plight of street alcoholic Jen, who, after a bad day, is befriended by a kind taxi driver named Brian. The two struggle to come to terms with their seperate addictions with each other. Their relationship starts off platonic and eventually blossoms into love.

However Michael is forced to lie to Jemima and is found out at the point of proposal. In a big turn-around Jemima takes the reigns and plans a publicity stunt to attract a five-year sponsorship deal for the art factory-riding naked on a horse over Magdalen Bridge on may morning. this culminates in a reuniting of all, laying to rest of family ghosts and 'the' proper proposal.

Synopsis

Lands End tells the story of Clare, a new mother with post-natal depression who spends much of her time sobbing under the kitchen table. On Christmas Eve in a desperate bid to escape her cheating husband Sebastian and get to the safety of her wealthy father’s house for Christmas, she enlists the help of two homeless men, Reza and Rory, to drive her from London to Lands End in Cornwall.

Despite Reza’s lack of recent driving experience and Rory’s constant thirst for alcohol the two men eventually prove worthy escorts. The adventures on the journey including the pitstop at Clare’s Granny's house where Granny comforts Clare and treats the men as heroes, all contribute to her increasing recovery and the precious bond with her baby is formed. But when the journey is almost over a chance meeting with her scheming husband and his lover who steal the baby away, means Clare has to look to her own resources to rescue the baby and escape Sebastian forever.

Christmas Day sees her well and happy and dancing on top of the table.

A Welsh family is in fear of their country which seems to have more mosques than McDonald's and terrorists lurking in every corner shop. The only person in the family trying to hold it all together is the mother, Karen. She has to deal with her layabout husband, who makes a joke about everything; her daughter, who no longer speaks to dad because she's fallen in love with an Indian and her son, who's secretly a racist thug. This funny and heartbreaking film deals with the paranoia of racism, the politics of hate and how it effects this family.

Synopsis

Moses and Chalkie are brothers trapped in two very different worlds.

Chalkie never grew up, a childhood accident stopped the clocks for him when he was six, he's got an artist's touch and an eye bordering on genius, but not much else.  Mike the window cleaner is his friend, and has taken him in after one too many beatings from Moses. Mike looks after him and he may have just found a future and a way out of The Heights for young Chalkie, he's just praying Moses doesn't find out before tomorrow when the deal is signed. Tonight, Chalkie is out, just doin' his thing, adding his colours to the bricks and the slabs of Paradise Heights, where everybody is nice apart from his brother.

To most around here, Moses is King of The Heights, his girls know that and so do the punters. The streets are his bloodline. An eye for opportunity and a cold ruthless streak got him to the top around here. But some deals go bad and even Moses answers to someone. If he doesn't come up with what he owes soon, the King will fall. Trouble is the punters aren't biting and the girls are nervous because a serial rapist is doing the rounds. Moses instincts have never let him down though and he knows Mike is up to something. Maybe Chalkie is the answer to his problem. What he doesn't know is the word is already out to take him down tonight.

It's when you think it can't get any worse that luck usually has a part to play, and as the sun goes down over Paradise Heights, worlds start to collide.
 
 

Synopsis

Low Tide tells the story of the last three days of a woman's life; Kathy is dying of cancer and is being nursed at home. Her husband Tom cooks and cares for her but is unable to offer her emotional support and keeps himself apart, playing his music or drinking with a recently widowed friend. Kathy forms a strong attachment to her visiting nurse, confiding in her about her past affairs, her ambiguous feelings towards Tom and her fear of death. Her closest friend comes to visit and a rift is healed; memories haunt her and eventually, after a painful confrontation, she and Tom attempt to come to terms with her infidelities, their unhappy marriage and the loss of their only child.
