Synopsis

Grace, a young lesbian from a devout Catholic family, finally summons the courage to come out to her parents - at the most sacred of battlegrounds: Sunday lunch. With her assertive girlfriend Ellie by her side, Grace navigates a minefield of family dynamics, from her competitive vegan brother to a wine-soaked priest prone to divine hallucinations. But every time Grace tries to speak her truth, her mother, Susan, deploys increasingly absurd distractions to preserve the family's picture-perfect façade. What follows is a chaotic, laugh-out-loud farce that collides faith, family, and identity in a way that’s as heartwarming as it is hilariously over the top. An interactive project and AR tour of archive relating to the town of Folkestone’s first chalk hill figure, the legendary Folkestone Elephant. Revealing ancient artefacts, folk costumes, rare archive film, and Augmented Reality magick. The AR app guides visitors on a walk through the beautiful local countryside neat Folkestone. Using geo-located video clips and sound, the expedition takes them from Newington to Summerhouse Hill, for a chance to summon the elephant.

Synopsis

In a dead-end town in the East of England Jayce, a young man, is released from prison after serving time for a crime he didn't commit. Looking for answers, Jayce returns home only to become embroiled in a scheme to sell a large amount of cannabis grown in a garden shed by Kev, the elderly neighbour of his childhood friend, Paula. The young people form an unlikely alliance with the old man and manage to sell the weed to a disarmingly-friendly dealer. But this attracts the attention of two local dimwit hoodlums who notice a dent in their trade and immediately suspect the odd thruple. Jayce finally learns the truth about his incarceration: he was framed by his ex-best friend and leader of the local dimwits, Lee. Jayce, Paula and Kev are kidnapped by the two hoodlums hoping to usurp Lee's position. Lee, meanwhile, is disinherited by his father and switches allegiance to rescue the trio, seeking (and gaining) redemption for his framing of Jayce. Looking for a new start, Jayce leaves town on his dream motorbike – purchased with the money from the weed deal. He leaves behind him a new 'family' in the shape of Paula, Kev and Lee.

Novelty pop band Black Lace are responsible for creating 'Agadoo', the worst record in history (as voted for by music journalists). The track was banned by the BBC for not being "credible", yet was still massively popular. But at peak fame Black Lace’s rapid success unravelled - and a disgraced member vanished - Enter young Dene Michael to save the day. 40 years later, after a decade living and working in Benidorm, Dene's still carrying the novelty fame, driving a clapped-out Volkswagen Up into the most deprived areas of the UK. On tours Dene's always accompanied by his biggest fan Anne, his 89-year-old mother. Unable to fly, Anne's asked Dene to drive her back to Benidorm for a last goodbye. However, the mother and son nostalgia trip has been upended by Dene's unexpected new relationship. Hayley, an 'Agadoo' superfan, has fallen in love with her ageing idol and is joining them on this Spanish adventure. Dene is placing his bets on recording a new 'hit' record. Synopsis

When six Palestinian comedians hit the road to tour a stand-up show across Palestine and Israel, their search for humour amidst the injustice of everyday Palestinian life becomes a plea for humanity in the face of brutal war. There are no comedy clubs - or even a tradition of stand-up comedy - in Palestine. The country is also carved up by walls, fences and checkpoints that create divisions in culture and quality of life between towns. As such, developing a comedy show that can speak to these very different audiences is a herculean task. Despite the cultural and security challenges of going on tour, the five Palestinian comedians and their British director manage to cross checkpoints and borders to perform in theatres in Palestine and Israel. Audiences flock to the shows and the tour gains momentum through increasing public demand. Word spreads internationally and they are invited to London for a series of gigs starting, tragically, on October 7th, 2023, just as war breaks out at home. Suddenly, the mission to connect audiences with thoughtful humanity becomes an existential imperative.
