Synopsis

An immersive 360° film poem from the heart of a Cornish temperate rainforest. The voice of the Mother Tree introduces us to the sounds, sights and more-than-human characters of the ancient woodland, encouraging us to think of time as trees do, in hundreds or even thousands of years. Synopsis

Damon Hill’s father was his hero. Graham Hill was a two-time world champion and racing icon full of natural charisma, humour and vibrancy; he was a towering figure. For Damon, growing up on the circuit at a time when F1 was immensely dangerous for the drivers, death cast a constant threat. And when Graham was killed in a plane crash leaving the family with nothing, 15-year-old Damon was forced to find his path without his father’s support and guidance, a path that would ultimately lead him back into Formula 1. This is the story of a son’s life-long search to understand his father, set against the backdrop of two fascinating, contrasting eras of the sport: the 1960-70s, a time of glamour and demi-gods, and the 1980-90s, a time of rivalry among men. This film tells how Damon wrestled with his father’s legacy and how, through sheer determination, he forged himself into a champion and became the father he never had.

From local legends chasing eternal glory to wide-eyed newcomers testing their limits, the film is a funny and heartfelt portrait of a place where tradition is steeped in vinegar - and victory tastes oddly sulphuric.

Synopsis

When Levi, an enforcer for a small time criminal faces a personal and professional crisis, his life coils into surveillance and insanity. After a failed execution attempt at the hands of unknown assailants, Levi spends winter recovering in the home of his mother who is simultaneously recovering in the hospital. When Levi receives an ominous voicemail it is clear the life he is living cannot continue. The little security he has is threatened and he flees society to start a new life in the woods. He finds himself reborn until a sense of surveillance creeps back in. When Levi is confronted by a volunteer scout leader, he proves it was simply his environment that had changed not his character. After Levi descends into old ways he returns to the city finding himself in familiar company. It isn't long before old enemies return to finish the unfinished. Levi delves deeper into the woods where the fragility of his psyche is fully realised. He finds he cannot outrun himself .

A summer in the life of a filmmaker weaving her way through six carnivals in England. Observing Caribbean cultural life celebrated-and contested- in public space. We witness multi stage soundsystems, Black Lives Matter floats, histories of violence and peace in the geography of local cities. This film is about how to (and how not to) make an image. The film is inspired by Isaac Julien’s TERRITORIES, made with Sankofa Film and Video Collective in 1984. While Julien catalogues the antagonistic relationship between Black community and the police at Notting Hill Carnival, NEW TERRITORIES considers the role of spectatorship turned consumerism in laying the ground in which Black and Caribbean identities are defined. "I choose not to bring this into our home.” “Well it is in our home, isn’t it?” Newlyweds Jeremy and Norah have recently moved to Ashford, Kent, where they’re trying to start a family, guided by their friendly and punctual fertility app, Try-cycle. Norah, a teacher in a local school, is deeply immersed in the news and social media landscapes, finding validation and purpose through her online interactions. Meanwhile Jeremy, a doctor in a London hospital, yearns for a life less impacted by the plight of others, seeking technology to numb himself from modern day life through the dopamine hits of swipes and likes. As both local and international events take place with direct implications for the couple, Jeremy prefers not to know what is happening, choosing not to read the news at all. But Norah does, a lot. As Norah consumes more and more news, eventually, will it consume her? In a world more globally linked than ever, this thrilling psychological drama explores the role of empathy, where the couple's social media consumptions, communities and world views, differ drastically. A heartfelt exploration of love, loneliness and humanity, when we can't switch off in an “always-on” digital age.
